The Mad Matchbox Collector Returns...With an Apology

Hi Everyone,

Please accept my sincerest apologies that I neglected this site for so long (I haven't posted in over two and a half years), but my matchbox collection and this blog has taken a backseat in my life. I have so many other interests including blogs on other subjects (as well as responsibilities) that I've been concentrating on, so frankly this blog has slipped from my mind. The craziest thing is that even without my attention, this mad blog apparently won't die, and seems to be even thriving. When I finally remembered it and decided to check on it,I discovered to my astonishment that it had 280 views yesterday alone (that's more than all the blogs I am currently writing right now combined). And I discover I have hundreds of comments awaiting moderation. Please forgive me but I will not and frankly not able to answer most of you kind readers' queries and questions. Most of the questions seem to be asking the value of specific matchboxes which unfortunately is a subject I have no real knowledge of (I don't even know the value of my own massive collection which I acquired rather cheaply through eBay and rummaging around in thrift stores). Other queries were about the years that specific matchboxes were released or about the history of certain match manufacturers. Once again, I am so sorry, but I don't really know. I am not an expert, but just a person who has (or rather had) a strong passion for the beauty of vintage matchboxes and merely wished to share my collection with others. Once again, I apologize if I have disappointed you or let you down. In the near future, I will try to return to making posts with photos of the many matchboxes I have in my collection (only the smallest fraction have appeared on this site so far), but today I just want to thank everyone so much for continuing to read this blog.

Best Wishes,

The Mad Matchbox Collector
